Power consumption: Make Plex environmentally friendly

I’m currently trying to reduce the power consumption around the house. A Plex server running 24/7 doesn’t fit into my plans anymore.I’d like Plex to own up to being more environmentally friendly:

  1. PMS should be able to set the host-system into a standby-mode after a x-minutes of inactivity.

  2. Plex clients should send out a wake-package and support wake-on-lan to wake up the PMS when a user is actually trying to interact with it.

  3. PMS should be able to wake itself up from a standby-state whenever a DVR recording has been scheduled.

There is an existing request for this feature. Rather than splitting votes over several threads, it’s best to add your vote and comments there.

I’m aware of this other request. I’ve opened up another one, as my focus is different and is actually a combination (idle timer + wake-on-lan + scheduled wake) of different features.
