Preroll Randomization without having to list every video file?

Version 4.145.1#:

Is it possible to point plex at a folder with many, many, many many many video files and have it pick one randomly for preroll? Maybe a plugin?
I understand that currently you have to list them all out… That just seems like at some point.. When you have hundreds of them, laying them out especially in a small text box it’s going to fail or become insanely cumbersome.
Can we just point it at a preroll folder to use for all our movies and leave it at that?

Sadly, that’s not currently supported.

Pre-roll FOLDER instead of typing out each path

I just found the pre-roll feature. Kind of cool. But to me, the value is in randomizing among several (even dozens) of clips. Seeing the same thing over and over will get old quick. But having to type out /my/path/to/preroll/this_one.mp4;/my/path/to/preroll/another_one.mp4 (etc etc etc) also gets old quick! I think it would be WORLDS better to just specify, for example, “/my/path/to/prerolls” No?

I was hoping..
I guess a cron job that randomly chooses a preroll video from one folder and creates a symlink into the designated Preroll folder for Plex every 10 minutes should be good enough for now
