Pretty disappointed

I have said a couple times, I agree they need to add it to the pages, but saying its not in preview is just denial. I gave you the exact quote from the blog that states it is preview. The fact that it doesn't say so elsewhere, while poor marketing, does not change it's status. I really give up trying to hold your hand and help you understand. Email plexpass@plex.com and request a refund and go on with your life. Make sure to state your issues in that email so they know why you don't want to pay for it. Vote with your wallet like you would with any other business.

Yeah whatever, I think you need a full Cortana preview from Windows 10 to read you out the posts in this message while pointing you out the fact that you try to cover Plex misleading advertissement of this "non marked as beta" app... The quotes you gave are just not saying it, you got to admit it... Look on this topic, i'm not the only complaining it's not being sold as a beta, so tell me, are you a super moderator? A Plex admin? An undercover customer service agent from Plex trying to blind us even more?

It just says i get AN APPLICATION FOR XBOX AMONGST OTHER PREMIUM AND PREVIEW FEATURES IF I HAVE A PLEX PASS. I'm not an english native speaker, but you surely aren't very clever to claim it's not what it is actually saying

I don't care of it's status, I don't care of the money, I just complain, and tell what I feel for this situation. So YES, it's even woprse as a beta, for me it's an alpha, i'm not saying it's not, i'm just saying it's not sold as this

Would you be on these boards complaining to the devs about what's taking so long if that were the case?

No, we'd have never been duped into buying a beta, and be still happily using Kodi.

The current Xbox version should be a free beta, and then a paid for release when it's decent.

I'm glad I only bought a 1 month pass - which I did because I had no idea how the app would be.

I'll jump on the bandwagon and say that I had no inclination that the Plex for Xbox One app was anything but a fully functional app. I paid for Plex Pass just to be able to use Plex on Xbox one, what a surprise when I realized that IT SUCKS. Plex pass (all of 3 hours old) canceled.

Unfortunately i have to agree, only bought the Plex pass so i could use the Xbox one app and its so basic its not even funny - not a single option. Worse, i didnt realise it couldnt play Music (very basic feature i would imagine). The MKV thing (having to convert everything to MP4 as my QNAP is not powerful enough to transcode on the fly), whilst not strictly Plex's fault was not something i even considered as i hastily bought my pass. My fault for not checking these forums i guess.

Anyway, i assume and hope everything will be resolved in the near future. I will keep my monthly subscription going unless i see no progress or updates from the Plex team after 1 month.

Cheers.

You can cancel, since my original post, nothing changed…

Yes, they pretty obviously don't really care about the Xbox One app

I wouldn't say that guys.  I'm pretty sure both the xBox one and the PS4 boxes are very important.

Development takes time and energy.  For all we know there is already a new release sitting at MS to be given the go a head.

When we had a bug earlier Plex fixed it but it took MS about a month to approve the app. So not everything with xBox is Plex's issue.

Any (good) reason they can't tell us that?

Because throwing partner companies under the bus is probably not good for relations.

If an update is not finished for whatever reason. Then what can they say but they are working on it. If they give a release date and miss it then what would good would that do except make people more mad.

Except that that don’t give ANY infos…

it wasn't supposed to.  any info you might be given is not going to make the process faster.

Have they updated the 'info' to people buying a Plex Pass for the intent of using Plex on Xbox One?

This is the reason we were disappointed.

While that is true.  It does however give people "hope" and makes them feel more apart of the process.  For what it's worth, this was talked about a lot in the "Vent" thread now moved to the plex pass general section.

We know that Plex doesn't tell us about new features and things in general.  But for something like the xBox client this may not really make sense.  We know or assume many of the missing features are going to be added in upcoming releases. There would be little harm in letting people know what the agenda is for the next release (hold back anything secret in nature) and a very rough time frame.

It's been a long time since the last release (not counting dimmer bug fix) and people just feel like nothing is progressing (even though we know/hope they are).  This would stop some of the chatter about "how bad" the xBox One client is.

This is now being handled differently for the new Roku3 release.  Lots more info about it including missing features that will be addressed in upcoming releases.

Just food for thought

True

We also don´t need an exact date, but just

* in the coming days

* In the coming 2-3 weeks

* in March / in April

would be sufficient for most.

It´s just frustrating not to know if the update could hit tomorrow or by the end of June ;-)

An update is due though, the xbox 360 app was released after the one app and got updated to include all standard plex features (like music and pictures next to movies).

Since the XBox One is my main smart device for the tv (hate my Smart tv features) I would love those apps to be updated with the same content support as the xbox 360.

My server transcodes the subtitles fine  and sure there are enough improvements to be made, but feature complete would be nice.

I wonder why the xbox 360 app got these updates so soon while the xbox one is still not updated.

In all fairness however, I do believe I remember it being stated that they Xbox 360 app began development before the Xbox One app. So it would make sense for it to have more features at this point being in development the longest.

The thing I don't get is that its a preview app yet we rarely get any updated or bug fixes. Nows the time plex should be doing this so we can test the fix the issues.

i paid for plex pass months ago and canceled it now im trying it again i hope i get my cast option and music option!
