We should get a Pin topic with New fixes coming in 2 weeks or 1 month. Helps us look forward for new features or new fixes! Music is differently something needed quick and if Microsoft is not letting you guys let us know!
I think what everyone is frustrated about is you keep us in the dark but keep our money.

I think the lack of communication is the worst part. I don't mind waiting if I know what I'm waiting for. But not being told a thing makes me wonder if my money is well-spent.
Nice thread TC! I especially love the replies bashing you for being NOT being a pleased customer. I mean seriously? The “take what they give you and smile” crowd needs to quit this BS. Its making an already unpleasant experience with Plex even worse. THANKS FOR THAT!
Cmon Plex Team. Give us at least a sign that you are still alive and developing on the Xbox One app. Its very disappointing to see all other apps receive updates nearly weekly and the Xbox One app hasnt been updated since month. I know that you are not giving any details about your schedule but at least tell us if you are still developing or if you gave up the Xbox One.
Not sure, I've read somewhere the support for consoles would be dropped...
I sincerely doubt this, and if so it's unlikely it was from a reputable source. You started out the thread with some not uncommon questions/issues (albeit a bit misguided in some cases), but you've really started going down the rabbit hole of being a bit trollish.
You are totally correct! That's pure trolling! Can you imagine, that Plex team doesn't give a shiit about at such a high level, that this popular thread did not even get any comment of any official Plex dev member, after all these month? That is just unnacceptable...
Now, I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Plex console support would be dropped...

If your that sure, please provide a link. You just had it from the Plex Employee before this post that development continues..... I didn't say "pure trolling", I said your comments were coming off as "being a bit trollish". There is a difference that I would hope wouldn't need to be spelled out. If your sure you seen it somewhere feel free to post it up as proof, otherwise it's just wind.
I'm more inclined to believe they ran into some development roadblocks and are trying to get stuff a bit more stable since people are using this as their main client for plex instead of just as a beta client to help plex with testing so they need it to be more stable or everyone will cry foul because something isn't working 100% perfect on a beta app....
No need to spell it out... I'm confirming to you that yes, it is pure trolling. Once again, nothing said and says it's a beta app, so it still fools people into buying premium pass for a shiity bugged app on Xbox One... I'm a beta testers for a lot of things, and I know how beta work... So...
Unfortunately, now the only link I can find on Google about Plex dropped console support is leading to this very topic, which was the main objective by posting this several times... I am afraid I can't provide you with any other link, as I can't find them. Maybe techradar?
And now I shall sign off, as I found much better using directly my DS214play
I know it was not in any way meant to be unclear from Plex Incs perspective, but is apparent that not everyone understood that the preview release was just that. The first thing that was done was to make sure the next release (the Roku) did not make the same mistake. And reading the comments in the forum since that release it has been made clear to me that the Roku release was better communicated.
What is left to do now is to find the time from some of the team to make adjustments to parts that is likely to confuse people.
The thing to learn from these complaints is that silence is something that makes people uneasy. I understand that the Plex team does not want to give false hope or receive the complaints when expectation have not been met after early announcements. I mean look at the big companies where companies like MS announce early and leave people often a bit dissapointed later on (expectation have grown huge in the mean time) or an Apple that announce rather late so surprising people more. And Plex tries to do the later. But where Apple as a rather single track to work on and can stick to a regular release schedule Plex makes the mistake to and be silent and not have a reliable release schedule.
If it was known that every 3 months a new version will be released for any of the Plex apps, than it does not matter what is in the update.
People would like that better. They can use 3 month sprints and just see what is ready for release and release it. No need to build expectations, people will stop complaining about the lack of info and everyone will be happy :)
MS tries to do this with the XBox One updates and I feel that is really helping, people are more connected and speculate what will be in the update and when the update hits there are surprises and small disappointments, but hey they may come next time...
So I suggest them to reduce the size of the updates and increase the release interval. Any size team can be used. And we should just than be happy with the new stuff we get.
But first releases should aim to be feature complete, at least the core features.

I agree that for example 3 month sprints is a possibility at least. But your last sentence I either agree with or disagree with, depending on what you mean by core features. People like to throw those two words into the mix every now and then, and every time I see it means something different. To be perfectly honest, there is no distinction good enough to rely on those two words.
For me the core features of a client are:
* It can play video and sound from the top 3 most common video containers with reasonable playback quality.
* It can play audio from the top 3 most common music containers with reasonable playback quality.
* It keeps track of if I have watched something, and for how long.
* It can be navigated.
If I ask you I will get a different answer. If I ask someone else I will get a third answer.
I am fine with a preview release being released with those things in place, but the communication needs to reflect it. And that is what Plex Inc. has started to do.

Thank you for all the explanation but it all comes down to the fact that people are waiting for more than 4 months for any new features and there is just nothing. We still don´t know if the next single feature will come in April or in December.
The Plex Pass Preview of Roku gets a ton of added features and fixes every 2-3 weeks.
That´s the only fact why people are "ok" with the communication in case of Roku
I would have to agree… Roku is not complaining because the do get a lot of updates… I understand some peoples irritations with it because I have my own. But, I know that they work there ■■■■■ off and are doing what they can to get the best app possible. I’ve been with plex for a few years and it was money well worth it

.... just my 2 cents ;-)
I am not sure if you misunderstood me (or the other way around :) ). But that is only part of the puzzle. Plex Inc. can't do whatever they want with the console apps. Every update they send to MS or Sony takes a LONG time to get out to you guys. They (MS and Sony) are super paranoid about letting something through that is not scrutinized thoroughly. This is turn means that the guys want as much features packed into the app as possible before sending it to MS. It would be a total waste to send less than fairly big updates to MS and Sony. Roku on the other hand basically totally trusts Plex Inc. So the Roku guys is not limited in the same way.
Let me put it like this, there are some really interesting stuff in the works for you guys. In the mean time, let Plex Inc. sort out the issues that they CAN do something about. Like adding a clearer message that this app is in preview and not a fully fledged feature complete app.
