Meds huh, project much? I’ve never deleted my threads but good try troll.
We're working on an update for XB1 as we speak (and have been for a while). Music will be in the next release, photos in the one after that. I'm sorry it's been so long, but it's actually quite a lengthly process to get new releases approved on this platform :)
Thank you elan.
And I just have to try is: Any vague ETA when we can expect the update ? :-)
We don't give ETAs because we hate to be wrong about them. The approval process is long, and like a bad game of snakes and ladders, you can fall all the way back to the bottom sometimes :)
Ok, thanks anyway !

Just a thought, but....
I think all people would really want to know if an update has been at least been submitted and going through the process. We understand that you cannot provide an ETA and it's dependent on certification/approval, but really just telling users that you have submitted a new version for certification would probably make everyone happy and feel better that it is actually coming, versus not telling anyone anything...
I know it would certainly make me happy to know that an update has been submitted for approval...
Hi Just a quick one, in ref to Plex and xbox one, I know that Microsoft make it difficult to publish to there platform now, I have just a couple of point to note i am comparing with plex for samsung
XBox issuse that i am facing and some please can we haves !!
1 poor audio, xbox does not appear to be passing 24/96 digital audio when using plex I am lucky to get 44k both via optical and hdmi ( i am using a merdian HD621 & g series setup)
2 the color pallet both displayed on my samsung plasma the xbox is insipid in it out put of high def colour
3 I get massive buffering on films like 2001, star wars or content that has large .mkv files, the TV just get on with it even when wireless the xbox stop 10 mins into the film then rebuffers every 100 -140 secs
4 could we get the ability to adjust the tile layout ( minor ) but helps when you have friends with motor issues
5 xbox one does not ask for PIN hence my kids can get to all content !! however pin works on Xbox 360
6 missync of audio files on some films again only with xbox one
7 dvd/hd-dvd & blu ray native support would be nice so i can get rid of the xbox apps (emby now support this)
8 Flac rip of audio and rip of disk media media would be nice to MKV or other suitable format
9 can we get a beta test for xbox as plex pass or can you build in this like with other platforms
just as a note to my hardware
Dell NX3000 , 64 gig Ram 2 x Xeon 2.4gig 8 core processors , Dell Perc controller with 2 gig ram and 21 TB Sata Raid array , 4 x load ballanced 1 gig Nic with TOC
Plugged into Cisco 48 Port 1 gig switch with 200 gig backplane running 9k MTU
many thanks
Chris Swain
There is an update coming. We promise. :D
To be clear, we do have an update that's going through the submission process. As Elan noted earlier, we don't do ETAs and it's always possible that something may be found that causes a delay (Snakes and Ladders!), but rest assured that we're working hard to get an update out to everyone. We're eager to get it in your hands! (Well, in your consoles and then get your controllers in your hands, but whatever.)
(and I've posted specific responses to serverworks in his separate thread)
thanks Dom C and Elan. That is a clear statement. Can't wait to listen to my music collection using Plex on the XB1.
Here is hoping the update gets approved soon.
Thanks to the Plex team for shedding some light. It's fine to not give ETA's. All we want to know is that stuff is being worked on for this platform, and that our voices are being heard. If you guys had have piped up a bit earlier, this thread may not have gone on to be so epic.
Everytime I see a 'reply to pretty disappointed' in my inbox, I cringe but still can't help to look.
This thread quickly turned into Lord of the Flies.
Happy to see an update. Thanks Elan and Dom C. Excited to see the next release. Thanks for your hard work.
This is great news. Thanks for the hard work and for keeping us updated.
Is the 20Mbps limit still in place in the update that is forthcoming?
Is the 20Mbps limit still in place in the update that is forthcoming?
I would love if this would be changed! I don't want to needlessly compress my bluray rips because of the bitrate limit.
I posted it as a feature request, please like it to vote for it! https://forums.plex.tv/topic/151451-increase-maximum-bitrate-for-consoles/
In word on the update? Microsoft still giving you a run around?

Dom C has stated in the Xbox One Update thread that the 20Mbps limit will be removed in the next update.
