It would be nice if there is a way to only allow format transcodes to take HDR to SDR etc without allowing resolution transcoding. Just an issue with 4K content, it requires so much to transcode resolution.
Would you mind elaborating what use case you have in mind?

4K to 1080p transcodes use a lot of GPU power and for instance a 1660ti can only do about 2. However if its just doing HDR to SDR it can handle many more. I would like away to only allow color format video transcoding without resolution change.
How did you test this? And HDR to SDR tonemapping always means a full transcode as well. It’s not as if you could avoid transcoding. You cannot.
Maybe I’m mistaken just seemed like the tone mapping didn’t put a lot on the GPU. Probably need to switch to a Intel iGPU anyways. Running a Dell T430 with the 1660ti.
