Thank you @Enderin
That is interesting. May be the Fibertel routers are all faulty and that is the common issue affecting everyone here and the routers need to be replaced

Would like to know if this issue is resolved?
Last info I have is that the ISP providing an alternative router fixed the problem

I would like to know if your problem has been resolved and if you have seen the post by @Enderin which indicated that the problem may have been due to faulty routers Technicolor (Cisco) issued by Fibertel and resolved by replacing router with Sagemcom router

To be honest, I have been manually getting my metadata with the iFlicks app. But I can confirm I have a Cisco router from Fibertel and the problem still persists.
However, I must say that at some point I was perfectly able to populate my metadata using Plex and this same router.
The evidence does show downloads are ok and then they start to time out. So not a solid fault but a fault that comes on after many requests
Changing the router from Technicolor to Sagemcom solved my problem.
I have to say that communicating with the Fibertel operators is a huge pain, you have to go through the typical āthe problem is with your routerā many times and by many operators. My ISP modem is in bridge mode (wifi is off) and i use my own router behind the modem.
The guy that actually came to change the device was very cool and was very appreciative of the info i had gathered from this forum.
So thank you all for the info.
Note: you canāt actually put a request to change the modem. They send a guy to check the connection, etc after they did checks on their end by phone/chat. If that guy happens to have a different modem in the truck they can switch it.
Cheers
Hello! I have the same problem. Iām from Argentina, my ISP is Fibertel and my modem / router is a Technicolor DPC3848VE. Changing my router is somewhat difficult in my isp. Is there an option to configure and be able to make plex work correctly?
So Iām screwed as Iām in the exact same situation, with a Technicolor DPC3848VE in bridge mode and same timeout issues. Will I have to call those idiots and pray until some cool guy that happens to have a different modem in the truck appear?
If it is the same issue of timeouts then The fibertel Technicolor modem/router must be dropping packets
Esp:
How can I simulate this supposed āpacket dropā (with curl, for example), so I can go to them with something reproducible? Because when I get the image manually (curl or wget) everything works as expected.
[Spanish] No sé.
Iām afraid so. Best of luck, it worked for me.

I was never able to get the simulation using curl for the batch files i provided to a number of users to fail. May be there are other factors. I am sorry
All we know is that the issue went away after the ISP replaced router with different make
Iāll try to make some time to investigate this further. In the mean time, my workaround is manual (and painful): get the poster URL from Google Images and paste it into the Edit Movie/Poster form.

Hello, I have the same problem with the fibertel modem, what I did as a faster workaround, is to connect to the 4G for a while and download the covers and banners,
On the other hand, the admin access to the modem is very simple, these days I will see if there is something that can be touched or an upgrade of the firmware that helps, even the problem is weird, I do not finish it understands
This issue has gotten worst than ever.
Now it doesnāt even get ātextā information like director, plot, cast, studio and release year. Only the movie title.
Hello all,
Iām from Argentina.
Iāve been having the same issue.
I have the technicolor modem + Fibertel as ISP.
What I noticed is that TV Shows are working fine.
This only happens with Movies metadata (posters and texts)
Thanks
Lucho from Argentina.
Just to confirm that if I use a VPN, (like hide.me) it downloads correctly and promptly.
I have a Mac Mini as PMS.
Iāll try to get my modem changed.
If you have other options, like setting up generic/free proxies within PMS, please let me know
Thanks
Lucho
