Hi, I really hope someone can help me. I’m trying to migrate my Media Server from Windows to Linux (Ubuntu 24.01.1) running on a Bosgame DNB20 series with an Intel N100 (16 GB RAM). I’m having an issue playing SOME video files from the Linux server, and I suspect a transcoder problem. Attached are the logs.
Watching console, I get a lot of warnings and errors, “Unable to create output stream for transcode session, no segments found” and “Asked for segment 0 from session”.
Most of the time the player just shows a spinning circle and will not play the video, but for some of the videos the player displays “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.” My player is running on a Fire TV Cube hardwired on the same LAN. I was able to play on a Windows PC in the browser on the same LAN.
I really hope that someone can help me so I can continue using this new Linux media server. Thank you for your help.
Edit: it turns out to not have been a transcoder problem at at, but rather a faulty external USB HDD. I bought an internal SSD to use and it’s been running well since then. SOLVED
