Server Version#: 1.15.3.876
Player Version#: WebClient on Firefox/Chrome
The issue is that when I log on to my Plex server via a browser it indicates that there is a new version (1.15.6.1079-78232c603); however, the file that it wants to download is:
plexmediaserver-annapurna_1.15.6.1079-78232c603_armel.deb
When I try to run dpkg -i on it I get the error: package architecture (armel) does not match system (armhf)
I’ve searched a bit and know that there is a way to make it install by ‘allowing’ another architecture to install, but when I tried it totally screwed up the server and after much troubleshooting I just had to re-install the whole damn thing…so I definitely don’t want to try that again.
When I went directly to the Plex downloads site they don’t seem to have a download file for the ‘armhf’ architecture so I guess my question is:
Is this a Linux only (excepting Raspberry Pi) update or am I doing something wrong?
You still have not migrated from my old and abandoned plexmediaserver-installer package to the now official ARMv7 plexmediaserver package. And yes, there is a download for armhf (ARMv7) on the download page.
Please read the migration documentation at the end of the following post.
Fan-friggin-tastic! This was exactly what I needed.
Thanks for pointing me in the exact right direction. I only recently downloaded Plex and bought the Plex Pass so I’m still learning my way around it (and debian for that matter – always been a Fedora (i.e. RHEL) user myself)…
Also thanks for mentioning that it was there in the downloads for armhf. I actually looked at the ARMv8 thinking that the ARMv7 was an older version rather than a different arch. But I’m glad I didn’t see that one because I wouldn’t have known about the migration steps unless I saw your post.
