DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 8

I get the following message after trying to start for the first time :

A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.

Plex Media Server.log (577.8 KB)

What should I do ? Here are the logs.

If this is occurring frequently on your browser then it’s time to find a new CPU (not NAS) to run PMS on. The problem is PMS isn’t responding fast enough to keep the browser from going into “Timeout” status (“something went wrong”)

The browser thinks the server should have responded by now but since it hasn’t … “something went wrong”.

Your two choices are:

  1. Upgrade the Syno – Expensive + a DSM 7 conversion (lots of steps)
  2. Use another computer (dedicated) to run PMS which pulls media over the network.

Sometime approx 2023 - early 2024, the 32 bit ARMv7’s crossed the boundary.

From your logs:
```
Your database is probably damaged.
You may need to restore a database backup.
Or you can try running DBRepair - ChuckPa
I also concur with ChuckPa, your NAS is very old and probably not up to the task any longer. Do consider upgrading your NAS.
Ok understood. Thank you for your insights.
I will try a repair and if it is not working I will change my NAS.
Too bad because I was using VLC on an AppleTV and everything run smoothly. Now I tried bypassing the AppleTV and use Plex on my LG TV.
@trumpy81 thats not normally database corruption, that could just be plex updating/doing plex stuff. Normally if you have corruption you will see a malformed or sq1 related error.
That’s why I stated it may be damaged, not corrupted.
Statements ending that way are either truncated or scrambled in some way.
Either way, restoring from a backup or simply running Chuck’s Repair Database script should solve the issue.
I am monitoring if needed.
Ok I just used another browser (Safari) and now it works…
I was using Brave.
