Bug 1:
Player setting “Display type” SDR shows the colors with a sepia tint when a HDR movie is played. Looks like the color profile changes as soon as the movie plays. This effect is amplified when in the appletv settings the option “Match Dynamic Range” is set to on.
When Plex Player is set to SDR and Match Dynamic Range to on and you switch to the appletv settings page “video and audio” with double pressing the “Screen” button (app switch) then the settings menu show the current color scheme Chroma 4:2:2. I can’t set this scheme manually - my choices are YCbCr, RGB High and Low.
“Display type” Auto + “Match Dynamic Range” off = good picture, VLC picture in comparison a bit darker and more realistic - 1080p SDR, RGB High output shows in settings
“Display type” SDR + “Match Dynamic Range” off = sepia - 1080p SDR, RGB High output shows in settings
“Display type” Auto + “Match Dynamic Range” on = sepia (Picture okay when the movie plays in the app switcher view) - Format switches to 1080p HDR, chroma 4:2:2 output shows in settings
“Display type” SDR + “Match Dynamic Range” on = super sepia - Format switches to 1080p HDR, chroma 4:2:2 output shows in settings
Bug2
Sound plays about 0.5 seconds in advance to the picture. Looks like it affects mainly locally stored files - trailers from the internet play right.
