Prompt for and display a user's recommendation on a media item for other users to see

I’ve seen feature suggestions for recommending media on the Plex server to others, but they’re based on engines, external services or new entire library sections or playlists. This is simpler.

When you’re done watching a movie or a show/season on a Plex client (i.e., it becomes marked as “played”), you’re (optionally) asked if you would recommend it to others (positive), not recommend (negative), or you can leave the question unanswered. Alternatively or additionally, an item in the kebab menu for the corresponding media item is unlocked, enabling you to mark the same information.

The result would be some kind of icon or indicator on the media item (on or near the poster preferably) displaying the number of positive/negative recommendations, visible to all friends the library is shared with. Further information appears when you select the item (or hover if using a mouse), detailing who left which type of recommendation.

So let’s say I watched a movie in my library before anyone else, and it sucked. Now a friend browsing my shared library looking for something to watch, will see that I don’t think he’ll enjoy it and will know to avoid it.

There’s already an existing suggestion addressing this topic in quite some detail (incl. the creation of a “recommended” hub based on what other users like that you might not yet have watched or an option to show who liked/disliked it on the poster). I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes

Therefore I consider closing this as a duplicate – unless you feel your suggestion is actually addressing a different scope.
