PS4 Media Player works but PS4 Plex App error: This server is not powerful enough to convert video

Hi, I am trying to watch movies using the Plex App on ps4 running the plex media server on a rasberry pi 2.

I successfully installed plex media server 0.9.14.6 on my Rasberry Pi 2 (Running 2015-11-21-raspbian-jessie) but I can’t seem to play any videos on my ps4 with the Plex App (version 1.00). I always get the error: “This server is not powerful enough to convert video”.

However when I use the PS4 Media Player App and try to play a video from the plex media server of my raspberry, most videos seem to play.

Since I really prefer the GUI of the Plex App I would like to resolve this problem.

Can anyone help me fix this or explain to me why the Plex App won’t play?

unfortunately the media formats supported by the “PS4 official media player” and the one available to 3rd party apps are not the same,
you can try and convert your video files to a format that is supported by plex on PlayStation or use the new media optimizer that was recently released.
