Any updates?
to anyone reading this, plex do not work on the playstation app, you should look for alternatives because it will not get 4k/hdr support. plex do not read the forums, especially not this one.
you should look at alternatives like chromecast because this update is not going to happen ever, plex do not care. waiting it out won’t work, they just don’t care about the playstation version at all.
they won’t update to get 4k, they won’t even update to provide a 4k ui, they won’t fix the constant crashing, they will blame sony (despite every other app maker providing a flawless service). do not use the playstation version, it is unmaintained trash entirely because of plex’s inept code
Plex on my PS4 PRO used to shut down every so often when I paused a video but since a week or so ago it’s shutting down EVERY time I press pause. Sometimes if I just exit out of a video, Plex will shut down. It’s making the program unusable.

Would be awesome if the Plex app for the PS4 was updated sometime soon! Seems like like a great potential device for the many users out there, including myself, who own a PS4 
it’s time for my 6 monthly check in on this thread to remind everyone.
plex do not care about your playstation app, if you are paying for plex pass and use the playstation app you are throwing your money away - they are spending it on podcasts and other devices instead
plex will never update the ps4 app to support ps pro or anything else, it will likely never get an update at all to fix it’s multitude of problems. seek alternatives.
I already switched to an Apple TV. They should remove the PlayStation app, because it don’t follow the new functionality. The main problem of this app, is about the visual quality of the video.
Also recommend NVidia Shield, which is practically flawless for Plex
playback. At this point it’s better to just realize that Plex will not give
full support to every device on the planet.
Any updates with this?? Netflix has updated their app to support 4K and HDR, plex now it’s your turn!
