Previously I used my old iMac 27" to stream videos to my PS4 Pro and this has always worked flawlessly (for over 8 years or so). Now the iMac died and I bought a NAS (Qnap TS230) to backup to and stream from.
I can perfectly browse the entire catalog, everything loads well, but when I actually press play on any of my files, I get this message:
"An unexpected playback error occurred"
Because my NAS can’t do transcoding I have made sure that my source files are compatible with the PS4 Pro, so I only use H264 files with a correct compatible audio format. I did enable Direct Play and Direct Stream.
I am looking through the debug data and the only thing I can find is:
"[Connections] All connections to [Loopback] failed"
I am not able to find this message back in the debug log, so it’s hard for me to pinpoint what’s going on.
After getting the error message I ran to my laptop to coy the debug data. It took me approx. seven seconds from getting the error till copying the text in the debug data, so the error should appear around seven seconds before the end of the document:
debugdata_plex_nastyplex_v1_debug_nonverbose.txt (163.6 KB)
Here are the correct logs:
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-07-26_20-43-03.zip (925.4 KB)
Managed to get a second one within a second after getting the error:
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-07-26_20-52-55.zip (934.3 KB)
Now I have no clue what to search for, so I’m hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. I’m no SysOp, but with a bit of Googling and some help I’ll probably be able to solve the issue.
About the LAN in my home:
- There is one modem/router connected to the outside line
- Both one Access Point and one NAS is directly connected to the modem
- The PS4 Pro is connected to the Access Point
- The iMac setup that is now replaced with the NAS was also connected to the Access Point in the previous setup
Thanks for your time so far,
Marinus
