Anyone know easiest/best way if possible to get this fix build into a docker.
If you’re using the plex docker container, you can just copy the .deb into it and then do a dpkg -i to update to this build.
You will have to do --device to pass it. I’m not sure exactly which devices you need to pass, possibly /dev/dvb/adapter0 ? Nor do I know if your host OS also requires the drivers honestly. Good luck! let us know how it goes.

This goes over how to use the HW transcoding PMS build in docker, the basics are the same.

Cool, seems to work. Found the adapter as two as expected. Tomorrow will connect the antenna and scan for channels. Thanks for the quick fixes and not making us wait till the next release comes out.
I installed the new quadhd fix and it then found my quadhd but the scanning fails
I know the cable has channels on it because it works connected to a tv.
It has a combination of analog and clearQAM but I know the analog wont work with this tuner
Any ideas to get it to work?
ClearQAM should work, analog does not.
I suspect something has captured the device, maybe a video capture tool such as teamviewer, or in Sound Settings possibly.
Can you post your Plex Tuner Service.log and the Plex Media Server.log?
Found the adapter on linux with the posted version. However I am getting a lot of Transcoder Crashes that will halt live tv or halt playback of recorded tv. Also recorded TV will stutter and buffer saying it is not fast enough when it is on my local network.
I found this https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/274892/quadhd-card
to do for server 2012R2 and I will see if it works!
It is scanning and found channels! I had to follow and install the stuff in the link in my last post
Server 2012 R2 was just missing things needed for the tuner card to work
Thanks for this! Detected and scanning channels in Ubuntu!
Need help with QuadHD,
I have HDHR Extend and QuadHD basically I have 6 tuners. I reserved the 2 HDHR streams with VLC and HDHR Viewer in order to check the QuadHD stream.
When I open the third stream on my iPhone I get “couldn’t create playback session for this item” that’s supposed to be delivered from the QuadHD.
I can see the server displaying “Recording Live TV - Session” for few seconds.
Plex server is able to deliver HDHR streams normally to my iPhone, but not the QuadHD.
I tested the tuner with Wintv8, it’s working properly, I can run 4 channels with PIP.
What could be the issue here?
@Ramx2 Not sure what you mean by you reserved the 2 HDHR streams with VLC and HDHR Viewer. If the HDHR Extend is configured in Plex DVR then Plex expects that any and all tuners are available for Plex DVR/Live TV. Just because you opened a stream using VLC and HDHR Viewer does not mean that Plex will not use the Extend when you tried to open a stream from your phone, as I stated Plex assumes it has use of all tuners. Since the other streams were outside of Plex it more than likely tried to initiate the stream using the Extend and was unable because the tuner returned an error that it was unavailable for the request.
A better test would be to remove the Extend from the Plex configuration so it only has the QuahHD available.
Well, why not PLEX would implement a feature to check if the tuner is busy (Let’s say somebody on the network using the HDHR Live View app) in that case it just skips it and jump to the next available one, if none are available in that case it returns an error “couldn’t create playback session for this item”
Ps: I tried your test, it’s working
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can’t seem to used a custom xml file. I’m trying to use WebGrab+Plus with Schedules Direct because the defaults are for Freesat and what I’m actually pulling is Freeview. So I’d like to pull together my own file but when i try that option I get “missing or invalid file”.
I’m told YouView should work for UK?

Yeah, it’s the closest. But it doesn’t have everything. It’ll work for now ![]()
Hi,
I’m trying to use the card on debian stretch kernel 4.9 but the card is not showing up in dvr beta.
I do have the latest plex version (Version 1.7.3.3937)
the card is showing up under lspci -v

as I heared the drivers are included in this kernel, aren’t they. So what do I have to do that this card is showing up under DV (beta)
Thanks a lot

I am running a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.02 installed from the mini.iso image.
It comes with kernel 4.4
I then followed the steps in : hauppauge.com/site/support/linux.html
My Plex server is running under docker container. I had to add the device “–device /dev/dvb:/dev/dvb” configuration for the tuner to be made accessible by the container.
Voila
I will run recording 4 recordings at once soon to see if it holds up. I will post my results here.
Tests results are pretty impressive. I recorded 4 tv shows at the same time with no issue.
On the playback I could notice some little lags here and there with plex on my Android TV (Ethernet). I then tried the recording with VLC , that played them flawlessly.
So i suspect the Plex for AndroidTv to be laggy a bit.
My system is a i7-7700 with 16gb ram and nvme SSD.
While recording 4 feeds with no live transcoding the cpu went up to 45% ish.
