Question about move media content on another location

Hi,
i’ve near 35000 video anime episode shared through 3 HDD
one of them has 10 TB of data
this 10 TB is set up as Z:\ and has many folder(less than 10 entries anyway)
if i want to split this 10 TB external 3.5 HDD to 2 2.5" WD Elements of 5 TB
Can i simply edit the current library entries?
example Z:\Aniplex. if i copy this folder in a new hdd external labeled V: …can i edit the library entry as V:\Aniplex and simply click save? or i have to add V:\Aniplex to the entries and perform a scan of library before delete Z:\Aniplex and click save again?

I have done this library as personal media show with intro enabled and manually matched every folder with correct metadata using either THETVDB and HAMATV Agents

Both of the solution mentioned above are fine for me, but i want to be sure i don’t have to rematch any folder.
the folder structure of original 10 TB and the 2 5TB will be exactly the same except for one of the two disk who wil get another letter

Hope to have clearly explained my request

Thanks for any reply

Plex does not handle moving content very well.

That is the recommended method. It will need to rescan and rematch everything. If things don’t rematch properly, they will be treated as new.

The other risky method is to modify the database directly. [HowTo] Plex database modification - Moving media the right/wrong way - #35 by danull
