That is strange, because before we moved the metadata and temp files PMS was working fine with no errors. Once we moved them out of there default directory this started to occur. No permission changes were made.
then move it back.
See if it works.
If it does – then there’s a permissions problem with the mount.
Would you have some type of instructions for that like you did for me before? I am not that great with linux unfortunately.
Also, the media mount that plex is pulling from for the videos is using the same permissions and location as the MetaData and Transcoding mounts as well. just to give context
I had a decent ‘sleep on it’ regarding this.
You’re using TrueNAS Scale.
Why not make this really simple?
- Create a dataset where you want it for Plex
- Create the docker container and use that dataset for the container.
You’ll have a simple container on the base TrueNAS OS versus trying to break things out and move stuff around .
I was wishing to use Plex in a VM instead of a container because of HW transcoding. I have a nvidia GPU that is updated in the VM with the latest drivers for it to work effectively, as well as some custom changes to it that makes the number of simultaneous transcodes higher than what the stock driver limits. With Plex running through a truenas container it does not allow me to update the driver to the latest version unfortunately
