Is there anything I can do so playback of Live TV/DVR channels starts quicker after selecting a channel? Maybe reduce the amount of buffered data? I know the tuner/server hardware/network setup is capable of faster play using other software, but not sure how the other software does it.
By watching the HDHR5 tuner GUI, I see Plex gets the tuner instantly, but it can take a bit of time for the spinning wheel to reach 100% and play to begin.
I hope this doesn’t sound like I am complaining. I don’t mean to. I am only trying to make a great setup even better. Generally, we are very pleased and enjoy Plex daily! Thank you.
Unfortunately not on Roku. Android loads a lot faster, it actually loads a little too fast now and does micro buffers which I’m requesting that they try to fix that now. But Android is your fastest loading, followed by Apple TV, then Roku. But Roku tends to be very stable.
From my understanding probably not it’s just the way Roku is made. But I do have a lot of Roku devices and a lot of android devices. I like both but prefer Android when it’s stable.
