Sometimes I sit down at the TV and just want to pass a quick half hour before I go out somewhere, or to put the TV on in the background for noise while doing something else. It would be great if plex had a "Random" button that would traverse my tv shows section and just play random (watched) episodes in a never ending stream until I stopped it.
What would be even cooler is if I could pick the specific shows which go into the rotation, so I could pick just those syndicated type shows where each episode stands on its own and it would choose randomly from among those (perhaps by randomly choosing from a playlist, since that functionality is so close to being now included in all the clients?).
EDIT: I just realized this is essentially creating a playlist of these shows and clicking the shuffle play button. I hadn't really messed with playlists since they aren't available in any client worth half a damn as far as video goes, so here's to seeing playlist support on other clients!
I would like this feature also. Apparently many others think so as there are many topic threads started on this type of feature. Here is one of the more popular ones for example and within this topic thread it references some of the other topic threads on this feature request:
By the number of threads it seems to be a popular feature request but with not one single topic thread getting a high number of votes it may not be on the developers radar.
