So i have followed all of the steps i used previously to setup my Raspberry Pi 3+ for PLEX. It still doesn’t work and i am not sure what to do next. I am not a programmer and have very little knowledge of how to program these things and rely on your help. I ran my media off of it up until last week when an update sent everything haywire. I decided to start over. What info do you need to help me finish this setup?

So when I run a status check, it says the server is working. When I attempt to claim the server, putting in my ip address:32400/web/ states that it is unreachable.

PMS uses Linux user plex, not pi but for whatever reasons you have changed the owner of the PMS data to pi. That’s wrong. Simple fix: sudo chown -R plex:plex /var/lib/plexmediaserver. Then restart PMS: sudo systemctl restart plexmediaserver.

ok i can access it, now it is not showing all of my file folders inside my external hdd
That’s a typo on your side
That’s a text file. You cannot “execute” it
Your network connection is unstable. Check the cable.
have better cables but no screen close enough to use them. usually use good short cable except when i run updates and program, i have to use long cables.
so the HDDs that i have are not listed there. I have a 3tb fat32 and an 8 tb exfat
previously, i just plugged them in and everything ran great. I updated the server and it all died and i had to start over hence the problems you have been so kind to help me with.
so this is what it looks like.
but the suggestions for the other types of HDD dont seem relevant. Any suggestions? You have been a great help so far thank you, it is almost back to working again.
