hi,
i´m looking for a smooth solution to use my nas server (without transcoding) to use plex
is it possible to get DTS with optical? spdif?
1080P mkv from nas (no transcoding)
how to remote the rasplex client?
my samsung tv has no smarthub, and blueray player cinavia copy protection
should this work?

The Rasplex does not have an SPDIF output.
If you route the audio through HDMI and output from the SPDIF port on the TV to your receiver, the TV will downsample it to 2.0 channels (no Samsung TV, AFAIK, passes through untouched digital sound coming from HDMI sources, it works only with the DTV tuner).

uhh, tnx for the answer, but i look for a useful solution to get dts / mkv with plex, is there anyway?
googletv no dts?
cubox still no dts?
blueray has cinavia copy protection!
android seems not 100 % compatible to dts?

I use a 4x1 port HDMI switch with optical audio output between the Pi and the TV.
For me it works awesomely with DTS, AC3 or any other sound stream my amp can handle.
Search for hdmi 4x1 toslink on ebay.

Yes I'd definitely suggest an HDMI switcher with separate audio output. If you want to use an rPi, it's your only option.
Otherwise you can check the Cubox-i and wait for a Plex package for it.

hi, i only want to say i bought a Pi and a switch, and now i am happy! only on / off is still a problem, how u realise That?
I get up and unplug it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great that you got it working! :)
I feed my Pi power from the USB on my wifi repeater, so it's always on. The rest of the set I switch off with a remote power switch.
Not so sexy, but it works for me ;)

Hi, I think i got a great solution.
I bought the RemotePi Board (a bit expensive :( )
https://forums.plex.tv/topic/84414-has-anyone-tried-the-remotepi-board/?hl=remotepi
I tried it and it works great. I use a cheap universal remote for TV and Raspberry. No mouse or keyboard anymore.
To keymap your Remote follow this guide:
https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/wiki/GPIO-IR
Shutdown routine (use the openelec one):

Or you can check this: http://www.hifiberry.com/hbdigi
This is less expensive then a HDMI switch with toslink (S/PDIF) support...
Already a thread about the support for this hardware addon (HiFiBerry Digi/DAC):
