USB Sound - Optical/Coax - 5.1/DTS passthrough

Hi,

 

thanks so much for developing a RasPi version.

 

Cannot find any info on this: which USB soundcard is supported? I need optical/coax output with 5.1/DTS passthrough. Unfortunately my receiver does not have HDMI and optical out of my TV is 2.0 only.

What TV do you have? I had the same Audio 2.0 Problem but i get an update one week ago fpr my LG 620s and now i have audio path trough, may ´be you can have this to for your TV.

I would be interested in this too.  My TV doesn't have audio out (or at least not 5.1) so I either get audio via HDMI downmixed to 2.0 on the TV, or audio downmixed by the Pi and 2.0 in to my amp. My amp does not have HDMI in. For RasPlex to replace my WD TV Live in my main viewing location, I need 5.1 out of the Pi (or a new amp, but I'm not going to get that past the minister for finance).
