rateyourmusic agent?

would it be possible to create a metadata agent that retrieves music data from this website?

www.rateyourmusic.com

example album:

http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/stereolab/transient_random_noise_bursts_with_announcements/

http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/the_beatles/revolver/

example artists:

http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/stereolab

http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/the_beatles

it seems that it’d be possible, at the way the page is built.

it would be exciting, especially if one could implement the “best of 1999” or “overall #11” kind of ratings.

the database there is way more extensive and complete than on either allmusic or last.fm.

cheers!

no interests?

I can walk you through it if you’d like.

right now i dont have the time for it, but i have all of february free. do you think that from the style of the website it would seem possible at all? i find the website way more tidy than last.fm and more complete than allmusic. so that’s why i think we should need an agent for it, even though it’s not a really known website.

thanks for listening

ps. i can be in chat for a lil bit to talk about it, but i don’t wanna try “writing” (not tonight). you should also know that i have no experience at all writing metadata agents or python in general. however, i “get” it quite fast when it comes to computers.
