Hi there,
I absolutely love plexamp and specifically its radios and guest dj’s, but find it a bit cumbersome to rate the music. Whilst it’s easy enough to do from the now listening screen, it’s too fiddly to do whilst driving, and doing it afterwards could be made easier and quicker than it currently is.
I’d therefore like to suggest a new feature for the mobile app which would be an easy, fast, and fun way to rate the music in your collection.
My idea is that it’d basically work similar tinder where you swipe/flick right or left to rate songs and/or albums. The ‘strength’ of the swipe would determine the number of stars given, optionally aided by haptic feedback.
It would have two main modes, one ‘passive’ one you can do whilst listening to other music, and one ‘active’ mode which would play snippets of each song that comes up. If possible the snippet would be the chorus or most listened part of the song, if that somehow can be determined by metadata or the sonic analyzer.
The same type of swiping system could potentially also be built in to the ‘now playing’ screen where you could swipe the album cover right or left to easily rate the song.
It would also be awesome if you could rate songs in your play history by swiping to one side (in the same way you can remove songs from ‘up next’). Again, the ‘strength’ or ‘length’ of the swipe would determine the number of stars given.
Kind regards,
Joakim
