So I’ve understood since Q3/Q4 ‘24 that the redesign was coming and that movies/shows would be in plex and anything music related would be relegated to PlexAmp. Which I use.
Audiobooks are still present via my prologue app so no issues there.
PlexAmp I can switch libraries and see the correct music files that have music videos associated with them. Normally, you could do a quick change on the menu item and start watching in Plex side.
So question is, how are music videos to be handled now that we have all music in PlexAmp?
I can’t find a configuration in PlexAmp and it doesn’t seem to appear in any menu. And I can’t access it via plex now; unless of course I reconfigure the library music video files some how.
None of the documentation seems to be updated really with this rollout of the redesign, if it is I don’t where they are.
Yes, I have this question too. Any new updates on the future of Music Videos? This is one area I was exploring in Plex before it went dark. If anyone has any info, please comment.
Understand the need to split them, unfortunately I don’t believe it was handled in the best fashion since announcing it and rolling it out.
I could care less what bob down the road may have watched on his plex server. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don’t get me wrong I mostly used the apps for their respective functions before. PlexAmp for music, plex for movies/shows, prologue for audiobooks, etc. I had just barely started adding music video media. Might be a niche thing to a broad group of users like me but know lots other users has a use case for music videos in their library.
