I recommend mediamonkey (windows), but foobar is good as well, although it has a bit more of a learning curve.
Another contender is mp3tag
Sorry guys, I’ve never dealt with a directory structure like that , nor was I going to experiment on my own library to see if it worked. I was hopeful, but I guess it didn’t work the way it sounded like it should with those settings.
Good luck with whatever you go with…
To say I am MAD at google now is an extreme understatement. Thanks to google I’m now forced to spend a bunch of time / effort / $ to get an alternative for Play Music (and the 500000 song cloud storage). Did Plex ever update the software so it works better with 1 big file of music like I now have? If I transfer my GPM download library to Plex server on PC can I also Download my entire MP3 library to phone and play it with Plex music player / android Auto. As I rip more music can I automatically sync the music to download copy to phone (assume I have enough space on phone)?
I absolutely refuse to screw up my folder structure just because Plex is too pathetic to be able to do this. If it was not for the Metadata saved in the file, this could be acceptable. Not using the metadata FIRST is not. It is a basic defect in Plex and unacceptable.
I will stop using it for that, VLC actually does a better job playing files than Plex does in this, so I don’t need a subscription for it. I will just put my files on Dropbox and use folder sync to sync it down to my cellphone or everywhere else, works a lot more reliable too, considering how badly the local sync feature is often broken in Plex.
Plex just sucks at playing/organizing your audio, simple as that.
It is sad but the typical downfall of every company / product and so incredibly basic: Not listening to what your customers what.
