Recent crashing of plex service

Just what it says. The plex service crashes fairly frequently and the logs seem to say:

ERROR - [Req#20b86/Transcode] [FFMPEG] - Failed to initialise VAAPI connection: -1 (unknown libva error).

The service crashes:

Plex Media Server[812]: ****** PLEX MEDIA SERVER CRASHED, CRASH REPORT WRITTEN

And restarts. Only to happen seemingly randomly again and again. Transcoding is being done by an Nvidia Quadro P2000 and was running “nvidia-driver-525-server” but I’ve since rolled it back to 515 to see if it makes a difference. I’ve attached the crash dump. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are the crashes happening randomly, or noticeably when you start transcoding?
When the services comes back up, are you able to transcode anything for any period of time?
Also, are you running on Ubuntu bare, or via container?

For Ubuntu 22.04, my packages are:

Edit: Just realized I was looking at the wrong system. I’ve got one running a p4000 for nvenc transcodes - let me pull the package list for that one.

Check and make sure the hardware is recognized;

ls -la /dev/dri

The hardware is recognized. After rolling back the nvidia-driver package to 515.105.1 everything looks to be working correctly. I did do some reading around and saw some mention of plex not being yet capable with cuda 12? Anyhow. It looks to be working now so I’m not going to mess with it. Haven’t had it crash since yesterday when I rolled my nvidia drivers back. Thanks for commenting though.
