Right now I have things separated into Folders [Mod: Libraries] (because thats what I like in my folder structure).
Plex does a good job of detecting most things but the issue is “recently added”.
For example:
I’m putting a lot of my 4K movies into a Movies [4K] folder. Which might also have an equivalent in the the Movies [HD] folder. The movie might be 6 years old but shows up in “Recently added Movies” My mom for example can’t stream 4K to her place but she doesn’t know the difference between the 4K version and the non and just clicks the pretty image and gets a world of buffering. Has to click the HD folder and then search for the movie which negates the recently added in general..
Aside from that… I also have an Anime [Movies] folder which also shows up as “recently added movies” and so on… anime series show up as recently added TV.
Obviously its just using whatever agent is selected for matching to show give it a line in the recently addeds. But what would be much nicer is if we could say "in this library, recently added should come up as ..i.e. “Recently Added Anime Movies” even though the agent is still the standard “Movies” agent. [Mod: implemented]
The order in which they [Mod: referring to library recently added hubs on the home page] appear would be nice too. My “Animated [HD]” and Anime folders always show at the top yet they’re the ones updated least frequently.
I’d think this would be a fairly simple feature considering it ALREADY does group the recently addeds by FOLDER. Since all the recent anime, chinese, documentary etc are in their own separate lines. Just with the same headers e.g. “Recently Added Movies”
Mod-Edit
Adjusted title to focus on the remaining open part of this request.
The hub itself can already be split, showing 1 “recently added” section per library, matching the name of that library. Order is currently driven by the sequence of the pinned libraries in the main navigation, therefore keeping that part of the request alive.
