Thanks for the advice. I’ve disconnected the wi-fi in Windows network settings and made Windows forget the wi-fi connection (now requires password to re-connect, which I haven’t done). I now only see the ethernet connection in the dropdown menu for “Preferred network interface” when I go to the Network settings of the server. I’ve restarted PMS and am still experiencing the issue with the Recently Added items for TV.
Is there any way we can flush or clear the Recently Added section?
Thanks for the reply. I logged out of PMS and cleared my cookies and cache in Firefox settings, and then logged back into Plex via the hosted app.plex.tv web platform which required my username/password and 2FA authorisation, so I guess that the clearing of cookies/cache was successful. As expected, my Leet server did not show up because I hadn’t yet restarted PMS on the machine.
I then restarted PMS and launched the hosted Plex web app and the homepage still has the issue with the incorrect Recently Added items. I also logged into the hosted Plex web app on Chrome which I hadn’t previously used (again using login and 2FA details to access) and the homepage on Chrome was showing the same issue as I’m seeing on Firefox. Does this mean it’s likely an issue with the server database rather than a browser?
If there’s a way of clearing all the history of Recently Added items on my server, I’d be happy to do that, not too fussed about showing the Recently Added correctly for the last few months in particular, but I’d like to get it working again properly going forward. Thanks!
Hmm. Looking at the recently added list at the library level shows that lists are correct. It’s something with the Home Page. There must be another cache on the server side. Let me dig some more.
That was always my guess because this was happening with all of my clients (web, Android, Plex for Windows) – probably since the infamous 8.15.xx releases of the Android App.
I’m having a similar issue. I created a new library to test out the new TV agent before converting my main one, and thank god I did – having a lot of issues.
The most glaring is a similar issue to the OP. My recently added list does update, but there are a few shows that are just “stuck” at the front of the list.
For example, right now my recently added begins with Seinfeld S7E24, Adventure Time S8, 30 for 30 S4, True Detective S4.
After those items, the list is correct and is up to date. When something new is added, those items stay at the front of the list and it is updated afterwards. If right now I add “some show S1E1”, I’d see seinfeld, adventure time, 30 for 30, true detective, some show s1e1. Nothing I can do can fix this, I’ve done all of the cache stuff, it’s not on my end and is on every client device whether local or remote.
Hi @anon18523487, was just wondering whether you’d found anything re: potential Home Page caches on the server side that might be causing my ‘stuck’ Recently Added items issue? Thanks!
Sorry to bump the topic, but I was wondering if you’d had any luck looking into this, @anon18523487? Are there any potential workarounds I could use to fix the issue?
Hi @anon18523487, sorry to bump this topic but we were never able to resolve my issue of the Plex Home screen being ‘stuck’ showing Recently Added TV from an older point in time and not showing true recent additions to the TV libraries even though the addition dates by episode and by show look like they’re correct in the database. You thought there might be some kind of caching function on the Home screen and you were going to look into it.
Did you manage to find any solutions to the problem, and if this is something that you haven’t been able to get to the bottom of is there anyone else on the team (@BigWheel etc) who might be able to help me out instead?
Sorry. No I was never able to figure out why your home page is stuck. I’ve asked around and there is no reason for this happening. I can’t remember, have we tried resetting the customizations? It’s the bottom option under the General settings for Plex Web.
Thanks for getting back to me, MF.P. Yep, I’m afraid I have tried resetting Customizations several times while trying to fix this. Looks like this might be a glitch with the odd couple of unlucky users like myself, hopefully Plex can fix in a future update.
@anon18523487 I am also having the same issue as @scat1620, tried resetting customization and also tried doing a DB check. the check reports as ok, but did try to do the repair following the below instructions
Problem: items “stuck” in “recently added.” Based on a comment by ddelcourt in an older thread, I found that all the items stuck in “recently added” had something in common … special characters (like accent, tilde, umlaut, etc ) in their file names. Removing these may be easier than database modifications.
