Seriously. My friends and I talk about this all the time. I’m like haven’t you watched that yet. They are like no… I’m like… why not I mean I recommended it for you in Plex… They are like really sweet… I’m like yeah… just wait for it to show up. They are like…cool man… I’ll hold my breath. I say noice…

Why would you want to do things like… I don’t know

  1. Recommend a TV series
  2. Recommend a new movie
  3. Recommend an old movie that you can’t figure out why Tom hasn’t watched yet
  4. Recommend a game or a fight and at what point they should start watching (or just a comment)
    My Friends and I like some fights and I’m always like. Start at 38:23:00 and he gets knocked the &#$#@$ out.
  5. Recommend things to your girlfriend that she needs to watch when you are not around. (I mean playlists work but if she has her own account… just saying (And if she’s a geek like you she might even have her own server… what?)

On a side note… if they really wanted to blow the worlds mind… They would create a SRT like format for videos that would let you specify at what point during movies and shows you could mute the sound or skip video. You know like that movie that has that one part that you can’t let your 10 year old daughter watch but the rest of the movie is fine. You could basically make your own Ratings for movies by having multiple SRT (lets call them r8t files… what!!!) lol… anyways…

3 years and still nothing?! c’mon it will be 16 hours for a developer to develop, implement and deploy this. Let’s do this!

I agree. I was looking to recommend movies to my family without using the queues in Plex Web, could be a nice feature to add.

Honestly its so surprising. It doesn’t even sound difficult to implement.

I think it would be interesting if this was combined with the more prevalent collections feature so that there could be collections where each user displays their favorite movies.

I think it’s safe to assume that this continued silence from Devs means they just don’t care about this issue. :s

That would be a very bad assumption. Plex just doesn’t tell you upfront when something like this is being worked on or is scheduled for work.

It could be released tomorrow and we would never know a head of time.

But it wouldn’t hurt the devs to acknowledge that this is a great feature
and that they are working on it, would it?

It truly does feel like plex staffers dont care too much about feature requests unless they also want it… I think plex needs a big competitor to step in and make them step it up
