Roku Ultra (2020), playing recorded TV from Plex server on Synology NAS (DSM-6.2.3-25426 Update 2). Following circumstances:
- watching recorded TV using commercial skip (not delete)
- having used the “Skip Ads” feature to continue watching
- hit pause
I get a black screen, no picture of any kind. No sound. Play button does nothing. Only way to get out of this is with the Back button at the top of the remote. This takes me back to the show listing, with a highlighted Resume button. I resume, and discover that the show never paused; it kept on playing during the black screen and is now further along. I have to skip back and guess where I had paused at.
BUT:
once I go back to the show listing and hit Resume and the show plays, and I do NOT use the “Skip Ads” button, the pause function works. The show pauses, with frozen picture on screen, and I can resume without problem.
Summary: It appears that once I use the Skip Ads button, that’s what triggers whatever it is that breaks the Pause function in the manner described above. If I do not use the Skip Ads button, the Pause feature works as expected.
Pause works fine on movies, btw.
