Most likely you will need a forensic lab to recover the data, that service is costly… very costly… You’re better off buying a new drive and backing up your media again…
For the future I suggest using a backup service like www.backblaze.com, this way if another hard drive fails or gets damaged, you can easily recover your media…
Yup, if you can’t read the data then the drive is unusable in it’s current state. You can try the following, but it may not work and the only option would be to use a recover lab as mentioned above.
- replace the motherboard, could be that broke, if you can find an exact drive with the same board, you can change out the board and it can get the drive working again
This works for accidental erasures, broken partitions, etc. A software solution will not work when the drive was dropped and isn’t being read by windows…
