Has anyone else notices that episodes and new shows are not automatically showing up in Plex?
I have to force a refresh of all TV Shows to get it to show up

Yes have this issue with some shows not updating automatically on detecting changes since latest plex server update @mfeingol can you confirm if this is a latest server issue?
Mine will not even update if I go to the Show and Update the entire show. but will if I update All Libraries
Definitely can confirm that it’s not refreshing properly. I’ve had to refresh it at the “Main Level” every morning for 3 days now,
is this being reported somewhere?
Still not working with 1.5.1.3520
I’ve been seeing odd behaviors as well. It seems to me like the problem might be more in the matching end of things? Fix incorrect match seems to nto work/be very slow finding matches, and even when it does, I’ve noticed the metadata download seems unreliable.
You could refresh under the show? I never had that work and always had to update library to get new episodes to pop up
I find the updating is MUCH slower since 1.4

Same, updating at the show level does nothing. Updating at the Library level is the only way to get new shows to pop up
and 1.5.2.3557… is no one concerned about this? Manually refreshing everyday is a serious drag
Judging by the number of releases lately… I think they’re working on that and numerous other “new features” aka bugs

I think you are getting a few terms mixed up. “Update” means to look for new files. You can “Update Library” which is for an individual library, by selecting the “…” to the right of that library name. You can “Update Libraries”, which is for all libraries by selecting the “…” to the right of the Libraries heading. You cannot update individual shows/episodes/movies.
You can “Refresh” individual shows, episodes, or movies. “Refresh” is the process of reloading the metadata that was previously obtained. This is in case you made some manual edits and don’t want them anymore and would prefer the prior default information.
I thought I saw something about an error with the automatic file detection to trigger an auto-update, I don’t have any updates for it. However, you should be able to set PMS to do an interval update which would still work.
Hi @“MovieFan.Plex”
It´s really a bug!
On those two lastest updates (Version 1.5.1.3520 & 1.5.2.3557) there are 02 kind of strange behavior. I will explain:
1 - Sometimes when i open the Plex Web interface some of the artwork in my TV Series simply disapears! See:
I need to close Plex and then open again…sometimes more than once to get all fixed. This only happens in TV Series!
2 - Sometimes Plex don´t download metadata for certain TV episodes.
When it works
When does not ** Most commom when i try to update more than one episode **
I already try Plex dance but did not work. Sometimes it works when i do this procedure:
1 - Delete the TV Series from the library
2 - Optimize Database (wait 01 minute)
3 - Clean Bundles (wait 01 minute)
4 - Empty Trash (wait 01 minute)
5 - Add the TV Series in library
I already start my server from the scratch to see it will work… with no lucky
Attached my PMS log files.
I know you can analyse and see what is happening.
THX for any help!
Braz.

Yes it is slower… After observe i think the reason for this is that now it is made with 3 steps (3 complete scans):
1 - Scan to identify the TV Show
2 - Scan to download the metadata
3 - Scan to download the artwork
It will take much more time by doing like this… if i am right.
I don´t know if they change it or it´s another bug. either way it´s bad.
Another thing that they changed and it sucks… They remove the refresh button on the upper right of the web interface… i use that button a lot. Now i have to click in the libary and choose refresh

@BrazMan - Out of curiosity… do you see the same missing poster art under apps as well as web client?
Maybe all these new features are the new web client and not the back end… doesn’t explain the broken auto updates though
Just add more episodes in Superstore… and no metadata
See:
Attached my log file after scan this TV Show
THX for any help!

You right! The first problem does not have anything related to auto updates…It´s another problem

Thanks for even mentioning it. at least now I know that its on Plex’s radar. that’s all that really matters
