[Rel] HTTP Anidb Metadata Agent (HAMA)

@glassedsilver kodi can insert specials between eps BUT follow anidb numbering only with anidb.net agent.

You can put the op/eds in the correct ep range but will probably get a guid on anidb so will have no metadata for season 2 op/eds since i don’t see how to match them from 2 separate anidb entries, but willl get standard title so look ok

you could do your own local custom mapping file to add op/eds in season 0 in correct range so it map to an inexistant anidb special ep number…

Please use anidb numbering and keep both seasons separate since ou care about specials per season
Otherwise use tvdb numbering, and here is specials mapping for tvdb
https://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=87501&seasonid=47321&lid=7

I fail to see how missing meta for openings is an issue when a conscious choice is made to not follow anidb numbering by grouping 2 separate anidb entries buut not following tvdb entries.
There may be a way to allow single files to map manually like you can with series " [tvdb-12345-s02e14]"
to map to anidb but the file would need renaming, so it would be better to use correct numbering then…

I accomodated movies and series together than no other emby/kodi does and allow tvdb and anidb numbering in one. I allow grouping folders and am coding to avoid having to put the grouping folder as root folder like in the legacy scanner.

“It’s great that we can’t differentiate specials by their respective seasons” Honestly, go to cody. it can insert specials between eps but will have to follow strict anidb numbering like on any other agent base video platform…

Kodi isn’t a server with clients though and I have yet to see a theme for Kodi I like.

Plex has the looks, the synching, the server part and for the most part easy configuration.

Kodi isn’t a solution and my choice is mostly conscious to have stuff appear as if I had seasoned Blu-Rays.

I don’t really think in terms of how something shows up in a database that I “have to deal with”, the user experience shouldn’t revolve around who came up with which unique concept to display a franchise in how many root entries with which kind of sub-grouping.

People usually think in seasons and think of anything that isn’t the actual series but special or other content as stuff that obviously belongs to the show in general or a specific season.

I fully understand I’m ranting a bit more about Plex’s limitations or that Plex doesn’t facilitate all of this by providing only one Specials group.

Please don’t get me wrong, I understand that you’re giving me the option to use tvdb as a guide and somewhat work around all of this, I’ll probably end up doing this, I just felt like I needed to express feedback, to whoever it may concern, Plex or you or both idk, that right now Plex is missing out on the finesse it needs to become WAY easier to use.

If specials and separate anidb entries issues were resolved, again, however by whoever, it would immediately make Plex a tenfold easier program to use and enjoy.

Either way, I thank you very much for providing the agent, because together with Plex and some spare time I can finally enjoy anime again and have my play counts and positions taken care of again, because iTunes long dropped the ball. (for many reasons, long story short is I got fed up with Apple’s countless limitations)

@ZeroQI – success! Deleting the XML (in fact, deleting the whole DataItems folder and unzipping them again from the Plug-in.Support.folders file), searching for “clear-cache” in Fix Match and then refreshing the metadata seems to have done the trick. Thank you very much for the help! B) B)

FYI, the reason it was in Simplified Chinese before is because I’m a moron and I mistook the Chinese ideograms for kanji… :cold_sweat: I fixed it though (the Anime library is now in Japanese, just in case).

Cheers!

So you’re trying to add anidb to your own metadata agent? If so then there’s no such thing as simple instructions.

I’m trying to get Monogatari into my Plex library. Due to the complex way the show needs to be viewed, I wanted to arrange the folders by parts. This is how the folders are set up:

Monogatari
\Monogatari [tvdb4-102261]
\\Part One
\\Bakemonogatari
\\\S01E01
\\\S01E02 (etc)
\\Nekomonogatari
\\\S00E03
\\\S00E04 (etc)
\\Nisemonogatari
\\\S02E01
\\\S02E02 (etc)
\\Part Two
\\Hanamonogatari
\\\S00E10
\\\S00E11 (etc)
\\Monogatari Series - Second Season
\\\S03E01
\\\S03E02 (etc)

Attached is the log, but the files are getting skipped by the scanner. Any chance at some help? Thanks!

Any updates on my issue? Is there a way to get this resolved while sorting the folders in the way I want?

The logs clearly indicate the folders are skipped:

Grouping folder: ‘Monogatari/xxx]’ skipped, need to be added as root folder if needed

Please add each folder as root folder OR ’ [grouping]’ after ‘Monogatari’ folder name

Is [grouping] folders now supported under mainline/stable, or still just beta? After un-grouping everything back when that was taken away, now debating whether I want to put in effort to re-group. It was nice having things sorted by series though, especially when they don’t necessarily start the same so they don’t appear with each other in my folder listing in explorer.

I added [grouping] after Monogatari in the root folder, but it still is being skipped.

Monogatari [grouping]
\Monogatari [tvdb4-102261]
\Part One
\Bakemonogatari
\\S01E01
\\S01E02 (etc)
\Nekomonogatari

\Nisemonogatari
\\S02E01
\\S02E02 (etc)
\Part Two
\Hanamonogatari
\\S00E10
\\S00E11 (etc)
\Monogatari Series - Second Season
\\S03E01
\\S03E02 (etc)

Any idea why it still is getting skipped?

Tried to read 10 of 79 pages but really i can’t get it.

I would to have a different Library for Anime with Series and OVA together (not necessary grouped).

I’ve installed Hama Plug-ins following instruction on GitHub and now it’s Showing and perfectly working if i create a Library as Movies and selecting HamaMovies, but my needing it’s different i have the following series:

Example:

Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball folder have 3 folder:
– OVA
---- Dragon Ball - Super Android 13!
– Dragon Ball
---- E01

---- E153
– Dragon Ball Z
---- E01

etc. where Dragon Ball and Z contains the first season and second series of Dragon Ball, and OVA contains Dragon Ball Movies.

If i select TV Shows then select the folder where Dragon Ball Main Folder is, it will show only the Dragon Ball Episode but skipping the OAV, if i select Movies it will skip Series and will show the OVA.

What i can do for show both series and movies? There is a special naming / folder convention that i didn’t saw anywhere in this topic?

@clowncracker What do the custom scanner log says ?
@exsnake tried reading the scanner readme (link in my signature)? Try to add as additionnal root folder “dragon ball” one. then “dragon ball/ova” as you are meant to add as root folder the folder condaining series folder directly inside, not in subfolders. Pretty sure the scanner logs tells you to add it as root folder…
Also if it doesn’t show at the right season/ep number it’s a scanner issue…

I’m sorry, I thought I included the log.

Grouping folder: ‘Monogatari/Monogatari [grouping]/Part 1/Bakemonogatari’ skipped, need to be added as root folder if needed
Not only the folder at root level doesn’t have " [grouping]" but the next two subfolders aren’t the series folder…
My next scanner might support BUT got a bug i can’t solve and cannot access mt nas from work anymore so gonna take time…

I tried another version with the Monogatari [grouping] at the root level. However, it looks like it isn’t currently possible to have another subfolder before the series folder if I am reading your message correctly. I have attached the latest log to verify.

Hi everyone.
since days i can’t download metedata for One Piece (and Pokemon now), don’t matter the source (hamaTV agent or Thetvdb) and whatever the language (french or english).
I have a lot of anime on the same harddisk and no problem…just for One Piece i don’t understand why. No episode title, no poster, nothing. When i tri with Hama, the title of the show changes into "one Piece [anidb-69] but nothing appears…
Everything is well indexed (seasons, episode number etc.)
Someone have an idea or a solution ?
Thanks !
(and sorry for my english ^^)

Please check the agent readme, link in my signature. I need agent logs

Which agent log(s) do u need ? I don’t understand ^^
I’m my Logs folder i have all the logs mentioned in README

Have problems with some movies, like Accel World: Infinite Burst, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works or Mouretsu Pirates - Abyss of Hyperspace
As I understand, agent tries to works with them as if they are the TV-series - with a logical CRITICAL result.

Hi, first off: I love the plugin. Now my problem.
When adding Aldnoah.Zero and Aldnoah.Zero (2015) it adds them as duplicates.
I’ve tried everything i can think off.
My folder names are:
\Aldnoah.Zero [anidb-10445]
\Aldnoah.Zero [anidb-10846]
I’ve also added an anidb.id file in each directory with the show ID in the file.

Alternatives I’ve tried are adding (a10445) and (a10846) to the corresponding directories, and adding [anidb-*****] directly to each file name. I’ve also tried adding them both to a sub-directory Aldnoah.Zero. But it seems that whatever i try it keeps seeing them as duplicates of each other.

Managed to fix it. Not sure if it’s a solution, but it worked for this show for me.
I ended up renaming all the files with a year of release: show.name.(year)\show.name.(year).s**e**.episode.name
