Remember track location?

I am trying to set up a Plex server so that my entire family can share audiobooks that we bought long before Audible integration, and can’t upload to or use on Amazon for this reason. I have created a new library called Audiobooks that has each book as a single MP3 track. I have enabled “remember track location” and set up accounts for each of my kids. However, no matter what I try, it never remembers the track location. I keep telling it to “play [track name]” and it always starts at the beginning, no matter what. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to set this up so that each user’s location is remembered, or is it shared across the entire library, so that two people essentially can’t share the same book at once? If anyone has any other audiobook solutions (with or without Plex) I’d be happy to hear them, from what I hear people have been asking for good Audiobook support from Plex for over a decade now and it hasn’t happened yet so I’m not really sure what other options exist. Thanks!

I just posted about this topic as well. Sounds like the same problem though. I too keep my audiobooks on Plex and also cannot get tracks to sync their progress across devices. It’s really frustrating to remember chapter > track > timestamp every time you hop onto a new device. It’s counterintuitive to the rest of the ecosystem where everything you watch is tracked and progress is synced everywhere you’re signed in.
