Hi for some reason on my 2016 Samsung TV I can’t connect to my server. I have internet, reinstall the app and pc service yet come unable to connect. Strange this on another newer Samsung TV (2018) on the same wired network running platform 3 works fine. Have you disabled platform 2.4? 2.4 platform worked find up until about 5 days ago.

They give you a temporary way to make it work. It may work today, and break forever tomorrow.

No, it won’t get fixed. No, there won’t be an app update to your TV to fix it. Ever.

They give you a workaround which leaves your systems communicating in an unsecured way which can lead to your data being intercepted.

The plain and simple of it - Do not rely on the “smarts” of your TV to drive your media experience. Ever. The whole smart TV thing is a complete waste, and they’re terribly implemented, and their support window is beyond pathetic.

Buy a media streaming dongle, such as a Roku, Chromecast, Firestick, or AppleTV and use those until you need to upgrade them. You don’t need to buy a new TV.

Yes I am hip!!, I had to send this work around to friends and family who connect to my server. I hate tv apps, I use a hp mini running win 10 to connect to my tv.

i also have the same Problem with Samsung TV Model 2019
Model 2019 is still in the supported list of plex
so ??

this is stupid, allways the same with the damn smart tv apps, is better to go back to non smart tvs, noone need this if they cancel or delete the apps after 2 years
is most time better buy a firetv stick or chromcast there mostly u have no problems

Is there a chance that it will work again, what u say Plex Team?

maybe give us a inoffical version, we find a way to install on our TVs

sad that no information sent out, i try since 2 days with my Family member to get it fixed , now i read is not supported anymore, what a ■■■■
