First of all I apologize for my English.
I am using a friend’s remote server, his computer has a i5 2300, 16GB Ram and 2TB HD, his internet speed is 100mpbs download and 50mpbs of upload, Windows Server.
My Internet speed is 40mpbs.
Most of his movies have two audios and a low bitrate (about 3mbps, MP4 Video, AAC Audio), when I play the movie with the first audio everything is perfect, but when I try the secondary audio the video starts buffering. I’ve tried on Smart TV, Roku and Chromecast.
And my friend noticed that there is a drop in upload speed.
If need be I can post the log files, but I do not know which one to put.
I have noticed that since last update, if I play a blu ray quality film using HD-MTS audio on my x-box one I get buffering issues and also tearing of the video intermittently.
If i attempt to use my LG smart TV I get no audio at all and the buffering freezes.
You can set the quality of transcodes in the advanced options > transcoding section.
The quality of playback is requested by the client. Check the playback options > quality in the client to determine how big/good or small/bad you want the stream to be.
My friend has already create the files on a particular quality, so it may not transcode. And transcoding to 720p on the client, the quality image is not very good.
I have gigabit networking and have quality set to maximum, however the progblem is only related to high quality playback. A HD DVD file is OK. It is the BluRay HD/HD Audio that is the issue. I do not use transcoding in PLEX at all as everything is in house.
When I try to play a 1080p movie of 2mbps, the movie starts buffering, but when I try to play a 720p movie of 8mbps, it plays normal. Why this happens if it’s a higher bitrate.
Is there a way to fix that?
