Remove Deck Items

+1 Keep off “On Deck” list - under show info an icon like the eyeball for watched /unwatched would be awesome.
You could then keep track of all your watched episodes you only frequent once in a while with out them cluttering your “On Deck”.

How? Like, in the house? Then create managed users for them.

Yeah I have managed users but if I leave my profile open and anther user just jumps on a watches a random show it stays on my deck even after marking it watched because the next week another episode appears.

Ahh, I see…

+1 here as well, I have an episode of the Simpsons that keeps showing up in my deck even if we watch it all the way through, mark it watched, mark it in watched, and even watch multiple episodes after it. Would love to see a cleanup of the on deck feature as this and the fact that I’ve seen a number of thumbnails not show up in the on deck section lately as well.

Thanks for creating an awesome program though, overall I’m a long time happy Plex Pass customer!

Hey! I had the same problem, but I figured out an easy solution.

  1. Find and open the main folder of the TV show you want removed from the deck.

  2. For each individual season, choose the “mark played” option. After you’ve done so for all seasons, the show will simply disappear from the deck. THAT’S ALL YOU NEED TO DO

  3. If you wish, you may then immediately reset the seasons back to the “mark unplayed” option, and it will still be gone from the deck.

That didn’t work for me. The shows came right back to their previous spots on deck after I marked the seasons unwatched again.

+1 for this feature!

also can anybody confirm what happens in the following scenario :
Netflix releases Season 1 of show “A” February 2018. i watch all the episodes in the first week of March.
then i continue down the year watching mutliple other shows. net february 2019 arrives, and Season two of show “A” is released.
how to get on deck to show Episode 1 of season 2?

alternatively, how to create a “favourites” playlist easily?

It defaults at 16 weeks but you have the option to change.

thank you! but yes - this increases the problem as experienced by this thread -it will now keep shows i “tested” ,and no longer plan watching for a whole 52 weeks before they drop out.

Two different things. but okay.

Thank you! This really helped me out!

I can’t believe this post has been around for this many years, and the most “help” a team member still comes up with is to completely mess up your watch history. I have my ‘weeks to consider for on deck’ set to 52 weeks so that when the next year rolls around, and a series starts back up, it will still be on my On Deck. I have other series that I have tried and didn’t like, but now I’m stuck with them On Deck (for 52 weeks??). Now, because episodes air weekly, if I mark a show/episode as watched, then the next week it will show back up On Deck as the next episode gets added. Then, at the end of the season when I get the last one marked, because of my 52 week setting the show comes back at the start of the next season. I can’t not download the show because someone else in my household likes it.

So, you see, I’m not able to set the weeks to 0, because I am a HUGE fan of On Deck. Nor can I simply “mark as watched” as that will just make it go away for a year and then I have to start the process over. The issue with “mark as unwatched” (and another issue with “mark as watched”) is then if my family member that likes the show really wants me to watch it with them, I can at least go back to where I actually did leave off and try to catch up as long as my watch history is true.

This doesn’t seem to be a difficult fix. If it’s in On Deck, a simple “Remove from On Deck” option in the menu. Come on, Plex. In the series options, it can be an option so that series never shows up.

I love On Deck and its features as is… but I do agree we need a way to remove items from it… or from Continue Watching…

My kids often starts a movie and doesn’t finish it, so next time he starts it from scratch again instead of picking it up because I marked it as played/unplayed, just to remove it from there.

If we could just simply “remove from On Deck / Continue Watching” and keep the watch status, it would make Plex whole… not by adding more unused features like Podcasts or other extra features.

I believe Plex needs to stop trying to be something it is not for a few months and help its loyal base of users and paying customers with the items they feel they need the most.

Seems the most simple requests get overlooked, which is why I gave up on requesting. Today, out of the blue, Arrow S05E01 showed up on deck (on deck ignored Manifest going to on deck, which I have watched all of on plex, yet no on deck for S01E07, but it made the recently added cut). Well, I have been d/ling arrow for the past 2.5 seasons and have not once watched an episode on plex, but for some reason when I grabbed S07E05 today for my collection (my fiance in Australia and I will be catching up when I move back home from the USA) so I don’t need, nor want that one show on deck. Solution? Mark the 2.5 seasons as watched. Great, and now I know what is going to happen next week, the next episode is gonna be on deck. stupid. a simple option to remove the show would suffice. This goes with my simple request of “recently added” doesn’t need to include watched items. another thing I chimed in about multiple times, and that option is not there either. And I am sure this will go on deaf ears as well…no plex pass, and reasons are stated with lack of listening to users. makes me a bit leery. Too bad since I love plex overall, but not listening to requests is very disheartening.

It’s unbelievable this has sat here for over 2 years. This is a severely easy feature to add (add a flag to shows, when that flag is true, exclude from On Deck).

This would take an engineer a day to add. 3 days if you include testing/builds/qa. 3 days is nothing.

I was able to solve this by going to the Show in question, mark all shows in the series or that season as played and it will disappear from the On Deck section. Hope this helps!

Or not-played. Both will do it.
