Remove Deck Items

+1 on add option to remove items from ‘on deck’ - Plex is for entertainment - on deck feels like a to do list.

+1 and ditto to opotoc’s comment.

+1 for this feature.

All the people who keep suggesting “mark the show as watched”, well lets take that approach and follow it to a conclusion.

I mark a show I have lost interest in, for whatever reason, as watched. 2 months down the road, I want to pick up where I left off, wait, I don’t remember where I left off, thankfully plex will tell me what episodes I have watched so I can … oh wait.

Stop suggesting to mark the show as watched, that is not a valid, nor acceptable solution. Being able to remove a show from being on deck would most likely take a few hours of programming effort, and a small database table to keep track of the shows/episodes as a sort of “blacklist”.

I have to say that this would be a good addition to the fold.

I think the idea of a blacklist of shows that you don’t want to appear “on deck”.

The Deck feature is pretty much our go to place, as we use Plex for 80% of our TV consumption. However there are various shows (mostly Kids stuff) that the kids don’t care what order it’s watched (in fact most of the time they want a select few episodes, yes I’ve already thought about a play list of those).

It would be good if in the Advanced settings for a show there was a tick-box “don’t show in Deck”.

The functionality already exists, in part, for this ignore activity by way of the “number of weeks” option in Server Settings, so I can’t imagine its a massive leap to add a manual checkbox for the same.

+1 for this feature.

I haven’t read the whole thread but I found the excuse from an employee that it would require a lot of reworking to implement this, so lets meet in the middle, add a exclude button to the “on deck” title which lists all the thing that can show up there (with search functionality preferably) with a a check mark next to it and if you check it, it will still include it in the making of it but just before you show it it gets removed from the list and is excluded.
You could alternatively add the checkbox in the show properties.
You could also remove the shows from the list that algorithm gets.

Just whatever you do please add the feature

+1

i would also like this feature to mark library items as “on deck excluded”. so that no matter how many times it plays half way it will never show on deck.

specifically my situation is i have smart playlists that picks a random episode that i have already seen of a show choosing from a list of funny shows i have pre-specified. the playlist continues randomly choosing an episode, if i have seen it recently or don’t like it and skip it then i have to deal with the on deck BS and its a constant battle on “mark watched” suggestion.
I do it for background sound and don’t care to resume where i left off.

+1 ditto, please add this feature

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but maybe editing your Settings->Server->Library->Weeks to consider for On Deck setting might be more useful for some of the use cases mentioned here.

Thanks, bengeorge. I set the Weeks to Consider for On Deck to 1, so items I haven’t watched in more than a week go away. Looks like the default is 16. That certainly helps, but it would still be nice to be able to just remove shows from the On Deck section.

It be nice to be able to add to the OnDeck as well.

Hmm… Soooo…If I set that to “0”… would that solve the Show On Deck problem for those of us who want a better solution to managing that function?

That will remove the OnDeck entirely

Setting to ‘0’ used to work for me in eliminating the On Deck section, but On Deck now shows. I have even toggled to different values and set back to ‘0’, but the On Deck section persists. Is anyone else having this issue? I am on 1.12.0.4829.

Yup, it’s back again. Setting to 0 used to remove On Deck but now I can’t get rid of it. Why change this? I use Plex in our staff lounge for over 100 employees so the on deck is useless and clutters up the interface. All my coworkers need to see is new movies and new TV shows.

+1 to an On Deck blacklist.

Plex Media Server 1.12.2.4929 was released yesterday as Beta
It allows for Number of Weeks for OnDeck to be zero

See Release Notice

  • (OnDeck) Restore ability to disable OnDeck when setting ‘Weeks to consider for OnDeck’ to 0 (#8279)

That OnDeck is so annoying. Couldn’t figure out how it was showing up when I already had it set to 0.

There appears to be a caching issue. Restart the server and the zero weeks on Deck should take effect and the cache cleared
