Remove Show From On Deck

I created a playlist recently of sitcoms that I’ve already watched, the idea being I can shuffle all of the shows when I’m bored and just want a quick show to watch without commitment. But then it ends up on deck and the workarounds that I’ve seen are a pain. It would be nice to have a feature that you can edit per show, or per playlist, that just checks a box to say “Exclude From ‘On Deck’” or something.

Good luck. The folks at Plex don’t have to ability to code such a complex thing. It’s been an issue since On Deck was introduced. This is what I did. I created a separate library (new folder) for ‘On Deck’ and put those shows I want to ‘track’ in that library. I changed the original library, ‘TV Shows’, to don’t include in ‘On Deck’ or the home screen. This is on option that can be found when you edit/create the library. This works great, except you are now forced to manually copy the TV series from one library (folder) to another when you want to move a series to, or from, ‘On Deck’. Another issue is it is global and effects all users.

I’ve since removed ‘On Deck’ by setting weeks to consider to ‘0’ and gone back to a single library (folder). I didn’t really like two libraries anyways. It’s a shame a library can be considered for ‘On Deck’, but not a TV series. Another fix is to change to ‘watched/unwatched’ flags. If I’ve seen an episode of a show, why would it be considered ‘unwatched’ if I decided to watch it again? A TV show has either been watched or it hasn’t. Toggling a flag to manipulate the app is ignorant. The Plex server thinks it’s smarter than you. Trust me, it’s not. Plex reminds me of The Katzenjammer Kids to be honest. I’m testing other options.
