Remove from On Deck

Is there a way to remove items from the on deck section without marking them as watched or unwatched. I have some shows that I do not want to watch right now. but I do not want it in on deck either.

On deck is pretty much uncontrollable by the user. You can neither add or remove shows from On Deck by any means other than partially playing them or marking the previous episode played (To add) or by marking the entire series played/unplayed. (To remove)

The only exception is if the last played date for the other episodes are longer ago than “Weeks to consider for On Deck.” Of course you could set that very short and then whatever you are trying to get rid of will go away once the correct amount of time expires.

This is exactly the method (mark whole show as played) that I use to avoid having a show in my On Deck just because I randomly played one episode in a playlist.

I really wish Plex had an option for “Don’t include this show in On Deck”.

Fine control of On Deck (the easy ability to move a show to On Deck without playing it or the ability to remove a show from On Deck) is something that has been asked for many many time in the past and Plex has successfully ignored the requests. That request has mainly been for an easy ability to add a show but there have been a few others about removing a show.

When it has been asked for Plex has behaved like the typical teenager being asked to “take out the garbage.” That is their selective inattention kicks in super strongly.

Of course Plex knows best so we should just shut up and be thankful for what Plex bestows upon us.
