Remove Tidal from source list?

I have no intention of ever subscribing to Tidal. Is there any way for me to remove it from my source list or am I stuck looking at this micro advertisement any time I switch among my actual sources?

Same as all the other online sources. Plex Web / Settings / Online Media Sources

Silly me. I was trying to disable it in my app. Yeah, that makes sense it would be on the server. I don’t have any other online media sources, so I never saw this before.

Thanks!

Any way to remove it from the actual listing under online content when vieweing through the web? Can’t figure out how to do that.

Yes, exactly how I described it above. At least it works for me as the admin; now what it looks like for others that may access my server via the web, I can’t say.

Like the other online sources, it is a user setting, not a server setting. Unlike the others, Tidal is not available to managed users so the option there is wrong. Its either on or off for your account only. If others are seeing Tidal, they need to turn it off on their own account.

FYI - Tidal only shows up in the list of Online Media Sources if you’ve verified your PLEX account’s email address. I recently changed my email address and apparently hadn’t verified it. Once I did, Tidal appeared in the list of Online Media Sources and I was able to disable it.

Honestly, I’m not even sure why Tidal is still a thing.

That doesn’t sound right. Are you sure you just weren’t using the wrong Web app. If you were looking at your local Plex Web, that hasn’t been updated to include the Tidal feature. If you were verifying your account, you may have then been redirected to the hosted Web App, which is the latest version and does show the Tidal features?

You might be right and that would make sense. It’s possible (likely) my browser was viewing the local Plex Web, not the hosted Web App. Appreciate the feedback and clarification.

:man_facepalming: I almost never use the hosted web app. Thanks for the tip.

Unrelated, I’m sure there is some sort of monetary incentive to push Tidal exclusively, but would be nice to see this kind of integration with Amazon Music (or Spotify) instead.

Why it is still an issue? Because it NEVER should have been activated automaticly without interacting of the owner of the server. I dont want to act all the time just because Plex brings out new stuff and have to adjust my settings then. Right way would be that owners get informed so they can decide to activate it or not.

Right on! Some sort of popup after an update that asks you if you want to enable it would do the trick.

Yet another trip required to Google to dig up this thread on how to get rid of more media crap Plex keeps adding to my account without my asking.

For those wondering - Tidal is in Plex because Plex took money from Tidal to add it to Plex. Do I know that with 100% certainty? No. Do I know that with 99% certainty? Absolutely.

Using the Plex “desktop app” (i.e. webapp) Tidal did not show up so I could not get rid of it. I had to log into the Plex website to get rid of it via “Online Media Sources” in the left sidebar. Good riddance to crap that is considered cool only in some bizarre alternate universe.

I know it with 100% certainty. â– â– â– â–  everything about Tidal.

Thanks everyone for figuring out how to get rid of Tidal.

As someone who pays for Plex, I would appreciate it if Plex would stop adding crap that no one wants.

I would understand if this was a free service, but it’s not, so stop adding crap to Plex.

A bump for Plex to please remove the advertisement from the web login. I already pay for Plex Pass and should not see advertisements. Thank you!

Is there any way to remove Tidal (or stop it from being the first thing i see) on only the Android app? I am interested in playing with this feature as support (hopefully) improves but for the time being i cannot get it to work on the Android app at all (just shows me the Tidal promo screen despite being logged in to both Tidal and Plex Pass, have tried logging out and in etc etc). As such, i would really like to avoid having to skip through this screen on the Android app every single time. Is disabling at the server level the only option here?

Thanks.

Logging in to Tidal with the Tidal app doesn’t help.
You need to link your Tidal account to your Plex account
