Hey, how about providing the deb’s in a debian/ubuntu friendly repository, it’s really no more hassle than hosting the files for download and it means us enlightened Linux users can just update plex with a simple apt-get update.
If there really is no way for you to do that would you a. authorise someone else (me for example) to host the repository for you or b. at least provide wget friendly links for the package download so it’s easier to install them on a server with no gui.

deb http://www.plexapp.com/repo lucid main
But why is this not documented in the download instructions, it would make more sense if the installation process was to add this repo and install from it rather than from deb’s
