I’ve noticed that the optimizer has a tendency to under-shoot the targeted bitrate.
Many of the movies I’ve optimized at Universal Mobile @ 4mbps (Transcoder set to “slower”) come in at under 2.5mbps…and some at under 2mbps.
Would it be possible to have the option for 2-pass transcoding (with the first pass being "turbo) for the optimizer…similar to what Handbrake offers? The compression benefit would be small…but it enables excellent accuracy on targeted-bitrates.
I feel like the optimizer is leaving a lot of quality on the table. If I wanted my files to be 2mbps…I’d select 2mbps.
