Hi,
first of all, sorry for my bad english.
I just installed plex on my mac mini and set the auto refresh rate to "at beginning". Now, when i start a video or a movie, the tv switches the refresh rate to the rate, thats the movie or video has. This is good for movies in 24hz but for small movies or clips it needs to long to switch. For example if i play a clip through airplay from my iphone the tv switches first the refresh rate, this is annoying.
Could you add a option to set auto refresh rate only for 24hz movies ? the rest should show with 60hz.
Would be perfect i think
Bye
What about people who watch 60, 50. 29.9 and 24 fps content and have decent TV to switch the resolution in an instant ?
What YOU can do to alleviate your TV shortcomings is to set custom refresh rate for your TV. If you enable only 60 and 24Hz in your TV profile in the OS, Plex will switch to only these two refresh rates.
Still, best would be to get a TV that switches resolution quickly.
My Panasonic Plasma's (2010, 2011 and 2012) switch between the resolutions in less than a second.
Also XBMC Frodo has an option to delay playback by X amount of seconds before it starts playing when refresh rate switching is enabled. I think we'll see that in PlexHT in due time.
