That is actually an interesting solution to another problem (lack of decent age filtering). Wouldn't a LinuX Container (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LXC) help? I played with this in the past. and it does allow a lot of flexibility towards port configuration. AFAIK, you could have specific IP-adresses assigned to the different LXC containers...

Hmmm... I've never had cause to use linux containers before, but if they support virtual-machine-like networking abilities, then it could work on Linux systems..
Something to chew on, yes
You can do that easily now with virtual machines, one PMS instance in each virtual machine.
With typical Pms server hardware now being able to run multiple VMs without sweating, this solution works for right now.
Right away, more and more of us are going to be paying per instance, and that's when it gets less ideal.
There are dozens of variations of this request. From all I’ve read, this should be a no-brainer to implement.
PLEASE IMPLEMENT IT!
Update Plex server to have the ability to change the local port to something other than 32400.
Where I live, I only have internet access through an Xfinity XFi (piece of s##t) router. UPnP is unreliable and port forwards can only be done to the same port, i.e. external port X can only be forwarded to internal port X. Can’t be a different internal port.
