Request: Dedicated trailer mode

I’d love to see a dedicated ‘Trailers mode’.

I know you can get trailers to play before a movie, but that doesn’t seem a useful time to show them - I’ve already picked what I want to watch!

The only time I actually want to watch trailers, is when I’ve decided I want to watch a movie, but haven’t chosen a movie to watch.

I’m sure we’ve all turned the TV on, and sat there endlessly scrolling through a list of thumbnails looking for something tempting. Thumbnails do a terrible job of enticing me to watch something - trailers are far more effective and enjoyable!

So I would click ‘Trailer mode’ and it would just start showing trailers at random of any unwatched movies and I would one click options to either skip to the next trailer or play that film.

Even better would be if I could do some filtering and then hit Trailer mode, and it would just show trailers for movies meeting those criteria.

It feels like it wouldn’t be too hard to implement, as most of the hard work is already done.

I don’t use prerolls, and I almost never watch trailers within Plex, because once I open Plex, I already know what I want to watch. Mostly.

But I love trailers. I’d watch the “All Trailers, All The Time” channel all day long.

This is a clever suggestion.

There’s already a number of suggestions on how to provide different trailer modes.
Maybe it might be better to vote/comment in those instead of creating duplicates (which will in turn result in votes being distracted/dispersed). There’s no value in having more of the same suggestions.

Just/endless trailers button

We have a several people who love trailers. Sometimes they’d just love to watch a bunch without loading a movie. Plex has such a great trailers feature, it’d be great to have a function somewhere where you could just set it going playing trailers. There could be a number of ways to implement this… it’d probably be something after going into a “Movies” library, or it could be on the home screen… I don’t really have a strong preference on how to get to it, as long as it’s not 10 clicks deep. Play All Trailers?

I was showing my wife how the new trailers feature works in Plex, I have it configured to show 3 trailers and set to 'similar unwatched movies in my library'.  Her first comment to me was "This is awesome, the trailers are a good reminder for me of the movies we have not yet watched."  And then the first questions she asks me are "Now that Plex has the play all feature can I play just all the movie trailers? Idea for new feature: Playlist of trailers, or Library Trailers Mode

To be fair… that’s one of the reasons I’m currently chasing after all those redundant suggestions. Right now it can often be like searching the infamous needle in a hay stack
