I’d really like to see an effective bookmarking feature in Plex. In a multi-user household, people watch TV shows and films at different times. It would great to have a feature that allowed people to go back to a specific point in a video.
Currently, Plex only displays a video as unseen/seen and keeps a record of the time when a video was stopped without finishing it.
I’d like to see a system where on Pause, I can add a bookmark and have the server remember which user was logged on, the date and time, and which device was in use. In the main menu, there could be a sub-menu for bookmarks, sortable by date/time user and device (and an option to remove individual bookmarks).
There have been many times when I’ve wanted this feature, or regretted not having it. For example:
- My wife and I may be watching a film and in the middle I go to bed and my wife finishes the film. A bookmark would let me start the film at the point where I left off.
- I may be watching TV series and stop at a given episode. My son may continue watching the entire season. Having a bookmark would allow me to go to my next unseen episode.
