As some people (and myself) have said elsewhere the current implementation of MultiUser support (using a MyPlex account) doesn't work if you have multiple people on a single device such as the ROKU when it's a tedious process of getting in and switching the MyPlex account info each time.
However if there were an option on the main menu where you could quickly switch the accounts (with a list of predefined accounts so they don't have to be entered each time) this might make the current setup slightly more acceptable.
This wouldn't be a perfect solution for those complaining they would still need to get a second account for Sync and such but at least you could have some non-pay accounts for the kidlets who aren't syncing anyway.
I also think this could be useful in cases like PlexPass PMS and/or clients. Might it make more sense to allow for different users (and pw?) PER myplex login? Sounds like we're trying to use a license feature for another purpose that may not fit well /within/ a household.
I think that this should be tied into the PlexPass family plan but that might just be me. I don't know the details of system but it would seem to me that if you sign in with an account that has sub accounts then there could be a fast-user switching screen with all the users listed. Because of the likely possibility of watching it on a TV and having kids under 5 type in a password of some sort, i think that there should be a 4 digit pin. This would be easy to sign in using a TV remote. Anything like typing in a password would not have wife approval.
I think that there also needs to be a guest account. Maybe that doesn't need to have watched/unwatched status. or options for this.
Up vote on this. I’ve outlined my reasons on another thread but simply put, the while family wants to watch TV shows at different paces and its always hard to keep up with which episode we are all up to. Also we share almost all the devices we have (except phones) including iPads
+ 1 (+6 User) who uses on deck view & watched/unwatched status consequently. we are so tired of signing in and out before watching a film or tv-show on the shared devices.
